Why have we been so bombarded with images of straight hair? What if we saw images daily of women with kinky hair and they got the best jobs? Would people be trying to kink their hair? Hmmmmm......
hmmm....good question. Someone on NP (forgot her name) said that she realized the absurdity of relaxers when she got to know her true texture.. i looved her analogy: how would a white woman try to achieve a FRO each morning...
anyways, for me going natural was inspired by the images of natural hair I saw in South African magazines especially Elle South Africa(the best I've ever read) from locks, to shaven heads, twa, fro, it was just a beautiful thing!!
I think that if more people saw these positive images during their childhood, then they would also find it absurd to try so hard to make themselves into something that their not. We are all beautiful in our own way!
